gammon or pork joint (all visible fat removed) – mine was £6 from Tesco
1 onion & 3 celery sticks (blended)
3 crushed garlic cloves
1 chopped red pepper
1 tin of baked beans
1 teaspoon of chilli powder (I used hot chilli powder)
1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
Glug tomato purée
Glug smoky chipotle Tabasco sauce
Throw all the ingredients in the slow cooker & stir well. Cook on low for 6 hours.
Take gammon out of pot and using two forks pull meat apart/ shred. Pop meat back in the pot and keep warm till time to serve.
This makes enough to serve a hungry family of four PLUS leftovers (double up peppers & beans to make it stretch further)
